November Art Walk
Tuesday, November 4th, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Debbie Patrick - All Creaturesart_walk

As a college student, I studied portraiture in pastels with Guy Bernardo of San Diego. I began painting portraits on commission while pursuing my "day job" in architectural rendering. Over the years, I have come to love animal portraits, both serious and whimsical.

This exhibit focuses on the pets and farm animals that have come in and out of my life. I always try to capture their unique personalities or moods, especially as reflected in their eyes. Most of the pieces in this exhibit are pastels, which I find an especially satisfying medium, since it allows me to actually feel the painting with my fingers as I work. Pastels are very appropriate for capturing the texture and light on the animal's or bird's fur or feathers.

I am an exhibiting member of the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, the Golden Gate Marin Artists and the Marin Society of Artists. More examples of my work can be seen on my website: or contact me at
