MVPD 1955
From the Mill Valley Record of April, 1955: "'Now Uncle Joe, you know I wasn't
speeding!' pleads Mrs. Bernice Canet Robertson as Captain Joe Canet pretends
to write up a ticket. Mrs. Robertson [...] finds the Autoette ideal for getting about
town promoting her cosmetic business. The electrically run car has a maximum
speed of 20 miles per hour."

Ben Hays Hartwell, May 1961. From 1920-25 he was constable
for Sausalito Township, which included Mill Valley, Belvedere,
Tiburon, Stinson Beach and Bolinas. From 1928-35 he was the
Marin County Constable, and from 1935-68 he was in the Mill
Valley Police Department. He retired as Sergeant in 1968.

In 1964, a car plowed into the former R and M Style Shop that was located on the
corner of Throckmorton and Bernard. Mill Valley Police Chief Dan Terzich is in the
center of the photograph.
