Grow Your Business Online: Using Facebook & Pinterest | June 20th, 7:00pm
Using Facebook and Pinterest to drive traffic to your website. Easy, free photo editing programs to help you create engaging posts on Facebook and Pinterest.
In this class we will look in detail at Facebook and Pinterest, and how they are powerful tools to grow your business online, through customer engagement and networking. Students are encouraged to follow along during class. You should come to class with a personal Facebook page set up – from there we will walk through setting up a business page. If possible, also come to class with a Pinterest account set up so can follow along. We will discuss Facebook posts, when to post, and how to generate engagement. We will go over running Facebook ads, and their effectiveness at targeting your ideal audience. We will look at Pinterest, and how it is being used by businesses, and the importance of optimizing your pins to drive traffic to your site.
We will review a free photo editing sites to help create engaging posts and pins.
If there is time at the end of class, we will discuss/brainstorm topics and strategies that could work for the businesses represented in the class.
Instructor: Hilary Andersen
Hilary Andersen has been in business for over 20 years, running her own design and marketing business. Hilary has a BFA in Graphic Design, and specializes in print, web design and social media strategy and implementation. Her experience includes web design, branding and a large social media campaign for a PBS series from Ultimate Restorations, a large social media campaign for the UC Berkeley School of Information, and web design and social media for a leading Bay Area dermatologist. Hilary brings her design and branding skills in play with all of the work she does, to maintain a consistent and cohesive message throughout all mediums. Hilary loves working with her clients on the overall strategy and implementation of growing their business online, helping them with search engine optimization, blogging, list building, and growing a strong following on social media, all helping them to drive traffic to their websites.
Experience required: Basic computer skills, knowledge of Mac OS, using a keyboard and mouse
