"Photographing Marin County"
The magnitude and variety of Marin County's natural beauty never fails to astound me. I often think of it as my privilege to pursue Marin County's beauty--to capture it in every light and at every angle. I look for exceptional moments in time--events that resonate and stir my soul. The key, apparently is simple--just being here in the midst of Marin's grandeur.
As a teenager the magic of cameras and the darkroom was captivating and all-consuming. The dynamic compositions of Edward Weston soon caught my eye. My home at that early age was another beautiful area--the Monterey Peninsula. Just down Highway-1 were two beautiful places that lured me--Point Lobos and Big Sur.
Now in retirement I practice what I love. Each day I attempt to capture the moods of Marin; the beauty that we all admire. My intent is to produce images that are unpretentious, true and realistic to the subject. If an image makes me feel warm-and-fuzzy, I consider it a personal success. When those who see my work find something they find meaningful, the reward is supreme. Enjoy!
