City of Mill Valley Departments to Participate in Joint Training Exercise with Pacific Gas and Electric
Posted Date: 2/13/2013 10:15 AM

Commencing on the morning of Wednesday, February 20th, 2013, the City of Mill Valley in cooperation with Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) will be conducting a joint training exercise simulating a major gas line break within the Southern Marin Sewer Agency (SASM) facility, 450 Sycamore Avenue.  The exercises are designed to provide the most realistic training possible for our emergency personnel.

This exercise is designed to bring together managers from various city departments that include Fire, Law, Public Works, Parks and SASM who will work with a PG&E management team and crews. Primary goals are for managers to coordinate operations through a Unified Command using the Incident Command System (ICS) and offer a realistic scenario for participants to manage simulated threats a major gas line break would pose. There exercise is designed to not impact traffic or the community. This training will be the first such training in the North Bay.

If you have any questions regarding this training please contact Mill Valley Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael St. John at 415-389-4130.
