Here is the latest news on the East Blithedale road construction project:
What has been done: Sewer crews completed the sewer replacement work on East Blithedale Avenue the week of August 12. Construction crews installed approximately 2,500 feet of the sewer main and 14 new manholes on East Blithedale Avenue. In addition, crews also connected approximately 55 sewer laterals from the properties to the new sewer line in the street. The contractor has also completed all of the concrete sidewalk and asphalt repairs. Workers applied a pavement treatment referred to as “scrub seal/microsurfacing” to East Blithedale Avenue on Wednesday, August 21 through Friday, August 23. Two-way traffic will be in effect, and temporary striping will be in place, starting at the end of the work day on Friday, August 23.
What is in progress: The scrub seal/microsurfacing is in the curing process, which will continue for seven days. After the curing period, work crews will install the permanent traffic markings.
What to expect in the next few weeks: Work crews will place the final traffic striping from Tuesday, September 3 to Thursday, September 5. The work will take place during school hours from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM to minimize traffic impacts. Two- way traffic will be in effect.
