Be a Docent!
Volunteers in the Local History Room assist patrons in finding books, photos, maps and other items related to the history of Mill Valley and the local area. Examples of duties may include digitizing archival materials to make them available electronically, and filing and other clerical work, as needed.
This is a great opportunity to become more familiar with our local history and work in a particularly beautiful area of the Library.

Volunteer: Historical Map Protector Extraordinaire
Interested in old maps, libraries, or archives? The History Room at the Mill Valley Public Library is seeking volunteers to help protect our collection of historic maps. Using archival mylar, volunteers will create protective sleeves to enclose maps of various sizes. This project is hands-on and requires careful attention to detail. An interest in local history is a plus. If you enjoy crafting, art projects, or working with your hands, this might be the perfect volunteer position for you. Training will be provided. Hours are flexible.
Contact Interim History Room Librarian Cate Mayfield, firstname.lastname@example.org, to discuss this or other volunteer opportunities in the History Room.
