Mill Valley Historical Society First Wednesdays
Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 - 7:30 pm (Free)
Creekside Room, Mill Valley Public Library
375 Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley
Every first Wednesday of the month, the Mill Valley Historical Society hosts a presentation of local historical interest.
Guest Speaker Jack Gibson, district director of the Marin Municipal Water District, will present the "History of the Marin Municipal Water District". Gibson was first elected to the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD) Board in 1994. He was reelected without opposition in 1998 and currently serves as district directo. During his tenure with the MMWD, Gibson has established a strong record as a fiscal watchdog and environmental steward. He has helped streamline MMWD bureacracy, reduced the budget, opposed rate increases, backed aggressive water conservation measures, and supported a comprehensive fishery restoration program for Lagunitas Creek. Gibson is also known for his track record of community involvement, and has served on the Boards of a long list of Marin organizations with missions of public service.
First Wednesday events take place in the Creekside Room of the Mill Valley Library.
