The ten minute play has become an increasingly popular and widely produced theatrical form. It is an excellent way for beginning playwrights to learn the craft and for writers in any form to sharpen their skills in dialogue and dramatic structure. The compression of the short play challenges the writer to create vivid characters in tight, engaging stories.

In this workshop, after studying several examples of the form, you will learn to outline and structure your own ten minute play. After writing the play at home, you will have it read aloud in class and benefit from constructive group critique. One or more plays developed in the workshop will be presented as part of a ten minute play festival in November. Class is limited to 12 participants. All levels of experience are welcome. The workshop will be co-facilitated by Lynne Kaufman & Dyke Garrison.

NOTE: Registration limited to 12 participants.  Do not register if you do not intend to participate (to the best of your ability) in all four meetings of the workshop: Wednesdays, 09/18, 09/25, 10/02, 10/09, at 7:00pm in the Creekside Room (see calendar).
