The Image Database may be searched for words appearing in the description field or subject heading field.

| If you know what you are looking for, enter a word or phrase in the text box and click Search Description. |
| If you would like to browse the database, enter an authorized subject heading in the text box and click Search Subject Heading. You may view a list of authorized subject headings.

| If you enter two or more words, the search function will return results only if the words appear next to each other in the field. You may enter only the first few letters of a word. For example, "rail" will return results for "railroad" and "railway." Do not use boolean operators like "and" "or" "not." Do not enter symbols, such as dashes or commas. |
| When your search returns items, results will include thumbnail images and information that describes the original items, which are housed in the Library's local history room. The call number tells you where the orignial item is located. If you would like to purchase a copies of an original item for personal, non-commercial use, contact the Lucretia Little History Room at 415-389-4292 x131. Clicking a thumbnail image will allow you to view a larger, good-quality image. Larger images may take some time to load. |
