Medicare Fraud Alert
Posted Date: 11/14/2013 2:45 PM

Protecting your personal information is the best line of defense in the fight against health care fraud and abuse.  Don't give your Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security numbers to strangers.  Medicare does not call, visit or sell you anything.

The Mill Valley Police Department has recently received reports of solicitations of possible fraud and scam activity relating to Medicare.  You should never release your personal information to anyone that comes to your door, calls, or emails you requesting this information.

Please call the MVPD at 415.389.4100 (weekdays) or 415.446.4526 (evenings)  if you experience this sort of activity.

For more information about protecting yourself against fraud and scams, please visit the US Department of Justice/US Department of Health & Human Services "Stop Medicare Fraud" website.

Remember, Medicare does not call you or visit you or attempt to sell you anything.
