Blithedale Terrace Draft Environmental Impact Report
The purpose of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) is to provide information and analysis to the public and decision-makers on the potential physical impacts that a project may have on the environment and recommend, where possible, reasonable and feasible measures by which those impacts may be “mitigated” to a level that is “less than significant”. The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the state law that governs the environmental review process, requires that the public have an opportunity to comment on the information, analysis and mitigation recommendations of a “Draft” EIR.

Public Comment:
CEQA requires that the public comment period on a Draft EIR (DEIR) be open for up to 45 days. However, for a variety of reasons, the public comment period on the Blithedale Terrace DEIR will extend to Wednesday, May 12, 2010.

  • You may comment electronically, using the form, below.
  • You may also submit written comments directly to:
           Planning & Building Department
           26 Corte Madera Avenue
           Mill Valley, CA 94941
  • You may also comment in person at a public hearing scheduled before the Mill Valley Planning      Commission on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 7:00 PM.

  • CEQA also requires that all relevant comments on the DEIR are addressed in a response to comments that will become part of the “Final” EIR on the project. The response to comments will not be prepared until the public comment period is officially closed.

For any comments on the Blithedale Terrace DEIR, please make sure that you clearly identify by page number or other specific reference, the portion of the document on which you are commenting. That will assist us in preparing accurate responses.
