Start Here Campaign

Start Here campaign logoCountless people, of all ages, walk through our doors to “Start Here” in many different ways, often setting out on a new journey in life. They start school here, get married here, learn something new here, build social groups here, get fit here, start their careers here and more.

This very idea led us to reach out to our community to find out how they decided to “Start Here”.

To illustrate the variety of ways someone can get their start at Mill Valley Recreation, we have asked members of the community who utilized our programs and services or attend our special events to share how they got their start with us.

The Kay Family

Kay-family-photoOur family has participated in many special events and classes ever since my children were of preschool age. We’ve attended the Mill Valley Community Campout and Holiday Craft Fairs over the years. My children have also participated in Summer Camp programs, taken swim classes, cooking classes, and preschool programs at the Community Center. We absolutely love all the programs! We especially appreciate how Mill Valley Recreation continues to foster a strong sense of community with its various offerings for everyone of all ages.

Now that the kids are older, they’ve loved going to Teen Zone. They love the social events and had a blast at the Halloween Party.

My daughter loves working with the younger kids and looks forward to helping out as a Summer Camp counselor.

Our family has been in Mill Valley for a fairly long time now, ever since our kids were in Preschool, and our experience with Mill Valley Recreation has helped us to stay connected and engaged in the community in a very positive way.  - Natalie Kay
