Please join us as our Southern Marin Firefighters provide demonstrations and training on how to properly use fire extinguishers. Deputy Chief Tom Welch will provide tips and best practices for fire safety in our homes. Coffee and donuts will be served - All are welcome, including kids!

EVENT TWO: NRG Bi-Annual Drill Sunday

Sunday, March 13th at 10:00 AM

Neighborhood Response Groups (NRGs) throughout Mill Valley will practice their response plan this Sunday, March 13th when Daylight Savings Time begins. The Exercise will involve all NRGs that feel they are ready and the degree of involvement may vary. The leaders of a new NRG may decide to just have Block Captains walk their neighborhoods, checking addresses and practice with the radio. Established NRG members may choose to set up their Command Post and exercise their team with a variety of scenarios to test skills. CERT teams may be deployed and even transport “injured” residents to a medical treatment site. An "After Action" meeting will provide the opportunity to determine areas of accomplishment and areas that need improvement.

A checklist of pre and post operation for drills is being developed.

Participate in the next city-wide NRG drill by displaying your OK sign to allow Block Captains to complete safety assessments. Please reach out to your local NRG Block Captain for more information or visit https://nrgmillvalley.org

All Scott Valley Neighbors are encouraged to participate in our Emergency Preparedness drill by displaying their green "OK" sign in a street-facing window. Our Scott Valley Block Captains will be practicing walking their blocks to make safety assessments at 10am. If you are unable to participate on Sunday, please make sure you know where your "OK" sign is located in your home. If you do not have a  HELP/OK sign and would like one, please contact neighbor Courtney - courtneygaiman@gmail.com
