As of 5:17 PM fire is 100% contained. Thank you to all our supporting agencies for today's work in extinguishing this vegetation fire. Please stay vigilant Southern Marin.

As of 4:35 PM fire is approximately 80% contained. Please continue to avoid the area.

As of 3:16 PM fire is approximately 50% contained. Road "Closed" signs are up. Please continue to avoid area.

As of 2:56 PM Vegetation Fire in Mill Valley at Kite Hill (Azalea & Camino Alto) - The Shelter in Place is LIFTED. Please avoid the area.

As of 2:51 PM Corte Madera Ave west of Tamalpais Dr will remain closed to traffic until further notice so fire departments can clean up in area. PG&E in area. Please stay clear of area.

As of 2:47 PM Forward progress stopped. Please stay clear of area.

As of 2:34 PM from Central Marin Police: Fire units from Mill Valley and Central Marin Fire are working on a 1/2 acre vegetation at the top of the Corte Madera Ave. and Camino Alto area. Smoke seen in the area but no evacuations needed at this time. Please continue to Shelter In Place and avoid area.

As of 2:29 pm People on westside of Camino Alto in Corte Madera - Shelter In Place. Stay in your current location, the safest nearby building, or the safest unburnable area. Most often issued when evacuation isn’t necessary and quick fire department access is required, but in some cases may be issued if evacuation is too dangerous. https://emergency.marincounty.org

At 1:58 PM PST, emergency dispatch received a call for a vegetation fire at Kite Hill Ln and Camino Alto. Southern Marin Fire District and Mill Valley Fire Department firefighters are in route. Please stay clear of area.
