[ARCHIVED] Southern Marin Fire Protection District To Host Consolidation Ceremony And Ribbon Cutting Event

You’re invited to Fire Station #6 Consolidation Ceremony + Ribbon Cutting Event!  Please join the City of Mill Valley Council and Southern Marin Fire District Board of Directors in celebrating the consolidation of the Mill Valley Fire Department with Southern Marin Fire District.  Where: Fire Station #6 26 Corte Madera Ave., Mill Valley, CA 94941  When: Tuesday, July 11, 2023  Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM  Reception and refreshments to follow the ribbon cutting ceremony. All ages welcome.


The Southern Marin Fire Protection District invites the community to join the City of Mill Valley Council, Southern Marin Fire District Board of Directors, and personnel of Southern Marin Fire District on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in celebrating the consolidation of the Mill Valley Fire Department with Southern Marin Fire Protection District. 

 

The consolidation ceremony and ribbon cutting event will take place at Fire Station #6 in the City of Mill Valley at 5:30 PM at 26 Corte Madera Ave. Reception and refreshments to follow the ribbon cutting ceremony.

 

The historic event comes on the heels of the effective consolidation date of July 1, 2023 and has been strongly supported by the Local 1775, fire department administration/City staff, elected from both agencies and the Marin County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo). 

 

“We are grateful for the support of those we serve, our personnel, community groups, and organizations that have supported us at every turn,” said Fire Chief Chris Tubbs. “We thank the staff of the District and the City of Mill Valley, who played a role in leading us to this momentous milestone. We are thrilled at the opportunity to recognize and celebrate this accomplishment for the agency and the communities we serve.”
