Last Tuesday, September 12, 2023, the Mill Valley Police Department, Marin County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, and Marin County Parks collaborated to host a bicycle/E-bike safety event at the Mill Valley/Sausalito Multi-Use-Path. The event aimed to increase bicycle safety awareness, especially on the MUP. Each agency had a booth and provided a variety of information and fun giveaways. Some of the activities included a cone obstacle course that kids could complete to earn a gift card to Chipotle. The Marin California Highway Patrol generously donated bicycle helmets and gift cards. Sgt. Ryan Smith from Mill Valley Police Department stated, “It’s great to see all of these agencies together in one place to promote safe usage of one of the busiest paths in the county. We are looking forward to doing this again.”
Additionally, these same agencies were again out Saturday, September 16, 2023 issuing warnings and citations alike for speed violations on the path.
